However, fans may see MLB and CPBL as substitutes, as what happened to the
KBO. We should get Wang to do a commercial for the CPBL or something.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972736.post-1165431857376961682006-12-06T11:04:00.000-08:002006-12-06T11:04:00.000-08:00i guess the best thing we can do now is improve th...i guess the best thing we can do now is improve the level of play of our domestic players. I do believe that our Taiwanese players have really improved in the past few years - due to the victories against Cuba and Japan etc. recently. Wang Chien Ming has really help revive our national sport this past year. I hope our players continue to get better.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972736.post-1165426906097215052006-12-06T09:41:00.000-08:002006-12-06T09:41:00.000-08:00Chino, You do realize that the CPBL in the mid 90...Chino,
You do realize that the CPBL in the mid 90's to 2000 experimented with raising and even eliminating the caps on foreign players. The result was disasterous as attendance declined year after year as locals stopped supporting the game.
As financially strapped as the CPBL is, I don't think that they want a repeat performance of what happened 10 years ago.
I do agree that foreign players can help to raise the level of talent in the CPBL, but it's more about the quality rather than the quantity of foreign players. Then again, trying to attract top talent without providing top $$$ is hard to do - and the CPBL can not compete with the NPB or the KBO for that matter. Increasing foreign player roster spots also takes away valuable developmental time from young domestic players.TTThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13997653696450941993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972736.post-1165426384977850702006-12-06T09:33:00.000-08:002006-12-06T09:33:00.000-08:0088 eh? didnt Yi-Hao Lin throw a low 90s heater? an...88 eh? didnt Yi-Hao Lin throw a low 90s heater? and he's only 15... sad that all our good players our being stolen by JapanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972736.post-1165421483975728742006-12-06T08:11:00.000-08:002006-12-06T08:11:00.000-08:00whoa, 88mph fastball. scary. man, raise the cap on...whoa, 88mph fastball. scary.

man, raise the cap on foreign players! A weak draft won't help much.TTThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13997653696450941993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14972736.post-1165386421083063052006-12-05T22:27:00.000-08:002006-12-05T22:27:00.000-08:00only 11 players were drafted?only 11 players were drafted?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
