Monday Observations...

AFL:
YC Chen was 1-3 with a walk and committed his 2nd error of the season. His team crushed the Chinese NT 20-4. Box

Konami Cup:
Three of the four team participants for the upcoming Konami Cup have been determined. In addition to the President Lions and a CBA All-Star team (essentially the Chinese NT), the 2007 KBO champs have been crowned - the SK Wyverns. The representative from the NPB will be the winner of the 2007 Nippon Series between the defending champs - the Nippon Ham Fighters and the Chunichi Dragons.

I agree with Maos; on paper the Lions should be extremely competitive in the K Cup. Great pitching with 3 starters who are interchangeable & a deep lineup that steamrolled the competition in the CPBL this past year (scoring 625 runs in 100 games this year).

well, that sounds good. Actually, Im hoping the Chinese "All-Star" team will do better this year. Last year was pretty embarrassing. Not much of an all star team if you ask me. Im not a fan of China but an improvement in competitive baseball in China can only help baseball in the rest of East Asia. Better competition breeds better players. After playing Taiwan, Japan, and Korea for so long - the Chinese team will eventually get better. Especially with the MLB helping. I just hate it that they schedule games in China where the people dont even care about baseball that much compared to Taiwan where they love baseball. Well, I guess I cant blame them. It is business afterall
