The latest SI feature article on CMW reminded me of an older post, which reflected on the last lengthy story on Taiwanese baseball from SI - "Where Have You Gone, Yu-Hong Kai?" (you can find the article in its entirety in the resources section - far right hand column > scroll down). That piece was written in 1991. You have to go all the way back to August 19, 1974 to find the first SI feature article to cover Taiwanese baseball. Here it is (click to zoom & read):
I hope we don't have to wait another 17 years before we see another feature SI article on the topic.

Kuo got hammered today giving up 5 runs for 3.2 innings. Wang gave up 3 runs over 6 innings of work with 5K's and 2BB's, looks like he'll pick up another win thanks to Abreu's grand slam that came in the top of 7th to put the Yankees in front.
