Excellent first step, this is very encouraging. The next step would be to recognize that Olympics will not be having baseball anymore.

I think we need to really focus on development from the school level... building good foundation in roots of the youth(elementary and middle school baseball players) will pay off in the future. That is more important than forming more CPBL teams. But, this is good news indeed. Atleast we know they are serious when they said they are going to support Taiwan baseball.

Agreed BC....the talent needs to be built up from the grassroots.

One alarming trend is the low ratio of Taiwanese kids (Han population) to aboriginal kids playing baseball - the aboriginal population only makes up roughly ~2% of the island's people!
