Chen's been a bit of a mystery to me. I know that when we originally signed him, we had him listed on the advanced-A Inland Empire roster, but he's yet to make an appearance there. I'd expect him to start there next season, but I keep expecting him to step up and show that he's more experienced than the other guys on his team and he hasn't quite done that yet.

J,
Sup man. Good to hear from you. Based on Chen's age and international experience, I think a lot ppl expected a lot from him based on the hype from Ted Heid. Chen is a good player - he has an all around game, but he does not excel in any one area. I think that Chen will have to play 2B since he doesn't flash enough power ala Sean Burroughs at the corner position. However, he does face a log jam at that position based on the guys ahead of him in the system.
Unless Chen has a breakout year at Inland Empire and is moved up to AA by the end of the year, I can't really see him having an impact at the ML level. He could be an effective utility guy though. We'll just have to wait and see.

Takin' the words right out of my mouth there, man. I'm in complete agreement, though I thought he had speed as a plus tool after his Everett campaign. Maybe that's not the case.
