Targeting # 6....

Wang will start for the Yankees on Thursday in the series finale against the Detroit Tigers. In a battle between AL divisional leaders, Wang will face the "statistical" ace of the Tigers staff - rookie Justin Verlander. In 10 appearances this season, Justin is 7-3 with a 2.55 ERA, and has won his last 4 starts in impressive fashion - giving up only 4 earned runs in 30.1 innings of work. Wang is 2-0 lifetime against Detroit. Something's gotta give........should be a good one!

In da Minors:
Kuo faced 3 batters in the 9th inning, giving up a single and K'ing the next 2 hitters before being relieved. Vegas lost 3-0. Box

Hu was 2-5 with a run scored in a losing effort as Jacksonville lost 8-6. Box

In a pitching duel, Inland Empire lost 2-1 to Visalia. Chen managed to get one of IE's 6 hits in 4 AB's. Chen also committed his 5th error of the season - which helped lead to Visalia scoring 2 unearned runs in the 5th. That was the difference in the game - tough loss. Box
