china advancing past the first round? the guys at mlb.com must be on crack. their level is so far behind japan, taiwan, and korea that if they even play a close game against anyone in the first round would be a victory for them. the sentiment here in taiwan is 'beat korea and we'll go to the second round' and i think that is the reality. i was in korea last week for work and talking to my business associates there, they feel the same way. japan is a step above taiwan and korea and everyone knows that the winner of the taiwan-korea battle will be the one advancing to the second round. btw, unless something unexpected happens, i'll be watching taiwan's games live and i'll post them on the game thread section of taiwaneseballplayers.com's forum, if i'm not too busy watching.
Pitchers: 1)Chien-Fu Yang: Gave 4 runs in 2 innings. (3HR) 2)Ying-Jeh Lin: Gave 1 run in 1 inning (1 HR) 3)En-Yu Lin: Retired the side in order. 2K 4)Hong-Chih Kuo: Gave 1 run in 1 inning. 2k Followed by Chiang, Pan, and Keng who didnt give up any more runs.
Chang Tai-Shan had 3 hits today. Chen Yung-Chi and Chen Feng-Ming both had a double. Hsieh Chia-Hsien recorded a hit as well.
I think that Jim Street showed his ignorance and lack of knowledge about baseball in Asia with his fearless prediction of China advancing on. What a slap in the face to Taiwan and South Korea.
