Tough Loss for Wang....

Knowing that the NYY bullpen was out of commission for this one, Joe Torre made the decision to ride Wang as far as he could go. Unfortunately for Wang and the Yankees, it was one inning too long. With a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth, Wang got the leadoff hitter to ground out. The next hitter singled, before Ryan Zimmerman's heroics - a walk-off 2 run shot, won the game for the Nationals. Before the 9th, Wang had been spectacular, holding the Nationals to 4 hits and 1 run through the first 8 innings. Despite the loss, Wang lowered his ERA to 4.07. Wang took the loss pretty hard. Not too much going on, but Chen managed a hit in 5 AB's in his team's 6-3 loss.

The Goldpanners lost their first game of the season on Sat. night. Taiwanese pitcher Chia-Yi Mai took the loss. OF Yuan-Chin Chu continues to tear the cover off the ball. He was 3-4.

In Japan:
Lin started in RF for Hanshin, but unfortunately was 0-3 in the game. Box

Class A - Short Season:
Don't forget, Kuo-Hui Lo makes his debut tomorrow for the Everett Aquasox - ss affiliate of the Mariners.
T.J. Yeh's team - the Lowell Spinners of the NY-Penn League will start the season on Tuesday - Chien-Ming Wang is an alum of the NY-Penn League - he played with the Staten Island Yankees in 2000 and 2002.
