Although the Asian Games Baseball Championships actually kicks off tomorrow, Taiwan's first game versus rival South Korea will take place on Thursday the 30th of November. Taiwan will then face:
2)Thailand on 12/2
3)China on 12/4
4)the Philippines on 12/5
5)Japan on 12/7
before completing the preliminary round robin phase.

-Interesting take on Taiwan's team from a Korean perspective - although I would disagree with the claim that Taiwan is bringing it's best roster possible - Missing: C.M. Peng, C.M. Wang, E.Y. Lin, and S.Y. Wu. Taiwan's offensive lineup is almost as good as it gets minus C.M. Peng, but the starters could have used a lil' more depth with Lin and Wu.

im glad chen chin feng is going but i also disagree with the article. I would say that Wang Chien Ming is our best pitcher in the US and probably overall. Lin En Yu is probably the CPBLS best. man, itd be awesome if both Lin and Wang attended the Asian games. How do you like Taiwans chances against Korea? Im feelin pretty good about it
What time US (EST, PST) does it start on Thursday?
Koreans are getting all catty.
Man,
I'm loving our chances against Korea. Even when Korea brought it's best players against Taiwan in the WBC, we only lost 2-0 -and that was to a staff full of ML pitchers. CFC didn't play in the WBC & E.Y. Lin (as good as he is)who started that game is no Hong-Chih Kuo. If Kuo brings his "A" game tomorrow, I like our chances!
As for time conversions, I believe the game will be getting underway 7 pm local time - so I think that for those of us in California - 8 am would be the starting time tomorrow.
I believe it's 9am Doha time (per your link), and since Doha is 8 hours ahead of DC, it would be 1am DC time (http://www.worldtimezones.com/meast_qatar.htm), 10pm tonight LA time.
Since Taiwan doesn't have daylight savings, they are 13 hours ahead of DC time, which means they would start at 2pm on the 30th, which is exactly what ESPN Taiwan has on their schedule.
So: East Coast, 1am in the morning
West Coast, 10pm
Thanks man, you answered your own question.
Have you forgotten already? Kuo did pitch in the WBC, and he got rocked by Japan.
Dude,
Like I said, if Kuo brings his "A" game - which means having good command of his pitches and limiting his walks, then what's not to like? If he can pitch like he did for most of September, then I like our chances to win. Kuo is still the best pitcher on our NT right now.
Besides, the Japanese NT in the WBC had a better offensive lineup than the lineup SK will present tonight. Plus, I think Kuo's made a lot of progress since the WBC - being converted back into a starting role has done a lot for his confidence and command. But we'll see how Kuo does in the next few hours.
