CMW Matches Last Year's Win Total....

MLB:*CMW won his 19th game of the season in his last regular season start against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Wang pitched 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits - he K'd 6 and walked 3. The Yankees won 12-4. Box/Recap

Wang's final tally for the regular season
:
19 Wins - 7 Losses, 3.70 ERA, 199.1 IP, 104 K's, 59 BB's, 9 HR's allowed

Over the past two years, Wang has the most wins in the Major Leagues with 38.

With the win, the Yankees advanced to the post-season and will most likely face the Cleveland Indians.

*Heading into the top of the 4th the Dodgers are down 2-0 to the Rockies. Hu is currently o-1 with a K. Follow his AB's here.

NPB:
CS Yang is still popping up in Fighters box scores, so I can't verify if there's any truth to the earlier report on Yang having season-ending surgery on his ankle. The Fighters won 2-1 over the Eagles as Yang got in the game in the 9th inning as a PR. Box

CPBL:
Elephants 7 - Whales 3: CYC hit his 3rd HR of the year and picked up game MVP honors after going 4-5 with 2 RBI's and just missing the cycle by a double. Teammate Chia-Chia was 3-5 with a double and a RBI, while 3B Jui-Chen Chen was 3-4 with 2 RBI's. Elephants starter Yu-Cheng Liao earned his 4th win of the year after allowing 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 IP.

Lions 6 - Bulls 4: Nelson Figueroa won his 3rd consecutive start and game MVP honors as he threw 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits - he also had 5 K's and 2 walks allowed. CFC's older bro Lien-Hung Chen hit his 10th HR of the season (he was 1-2 with a RBI). Here's how the other Lions sluggers fared: Tilson Brito was 2-4 with a RBI/KC Kao was 1-5 with a triple and 2 RBI's/Wu-Hsiung Pan was 3-5 with a RBI. For the Bulls, Tarzan was 1-3 with a RBI while DH Chien-Ming Chang was 3-3 with a double and a RBI.

Other:

Baseball America finally announced Yen-Wen Kuo's signing with the Reds yesterday. It also looks like the Cubs signed another Korean kid - which is good to see.

Good job CMW! Im glad he matched 19 this year. too bad he couldnt get 20 though. Overall, a good year for Wang. I wonder if Chia Chu Chen got signed also?

Anyway, Hu is 0-3 right now. The team has only collected 4 hits anyway. 1 from the pitcher and Young has 2.

Wang has won the most games in the MLB during the last two years? I'm already thinking of his upcoming 300th win... It might not be so far off.

i Think 300 is a long shot unless he wins about 20 games until hes 40

Good read on Hu, thanks.

As much as I'd like to see Wang continue to eat up innings and chalk up the wins, I can't help but think about the down time he had in the summer of '05 when he was diagnosed with a partial tear of his rotator cuff. Hopefully Wang can continue to stay healthy and avoid the persistent injuries that have plagued Tsao and Kuo.
