*Other - The Sinon Bulls will not be permitting any members from the team to participate in the 2009 WBC, citing this year's poor team performance (last in the first half, second to last in the second half of the season) - resulting from key players being overly fatigued from NT duties over the past 2 years . This means NT regulars - OF Chien-Ming Chang, C Chun-Chang Yeh, and RHP Chien-Fu Yang will not be available for the competition. Veteran star Tai-Shan Chang is already unavailable because of his banned substance suspension.

NPB:

The Dragons lost 3-0. WY Chen earned the loss after giving up 2 runs (2 solo shots) on 5 hits over 7 IP. Box

The Tigers won 8-3. WC Lin was 0-2 with a BB. Box

MILB:
Chen-Chang Lee is back in Taiwan after completing his time in the Fall IL - he fared well in limited appearances in Arizona - 3 IP, 3 K's, 1 R, 1 Save.

What is the likelihood Kuo and Wang can pitch in the Classic?

It's too early to say right now...but if Kuo and Wang were positional players, they'd stand a good chance of representing their country.

Lesson learned from this past season, Wang is too valuable for the Yankees to risk letting him play in the WBC. Kuo's breakout season and late season physical woes may also keep him out of the WBC.

It would be nice to see the two stars play for the NT, but I'm all for whatever prolongs their playing career.
