*24 HS teams will be participating in the Ta-Tung Cup, which kicks off 1/24 and will culminate in the championship game on 2/4. Some of the top names participating in the tourney include Chin-De Chang (Gao-Nong), Sheng-Nan Chen (Kao-Yuan), and Kuo-Hua Lo (San-Hsin).
*UDN has some articles regarding the BC - (Scott) Boras Corp.. Boras, baseball superagent, represents some of the top names in the game today. From a Taiwanese perspective, he has represented Chin-Hui Tsao in the past and currently represents one of Taiwan's young stars in Che-Hsuan Lin. Lin has a unique setup regarding his representation - Bros (based in Taiwan) handles his marketing rights in Taiwan while the BC represents him in the US. Another top Taiwanese prospect Chia-Jen Lo, a Bros client may follow Che-Hsuan's route and have dual-representation (Bros/BC).
*Former top HS pitching prospects Rong-Hao Hsieh and Wen-Hao Cheng faced each other on Friday in the collegiate tourney. Cheng picked up the W, throwing 7 innings (2 R, 4 H, 4 K's, 1 BB). Hsieh was charged with the loss (6 IP, 4 R, 7 H, 3 K's, 2 BB's). Hsieh was clocked at a high of 92 mph.
