Sunday Scoreboard....

US Minors:
R - The Red Sox beat the Twins 5-3. WW Lin made an appearance in the game as a PR, while CH Lin was 1-3 with a double and a RBI. Huang was 0-2 with a RBI. Box

R - The Cubs lost to the Mariners 6-0. Wen was 0-3 with a walk and was PO/CS . Box

AA - Tulsa is down 3-1 in the 4th. CL Lo is on the mound for the Drillers. Box

AAA - Completing a game that was suspended due to rain yesterday, Vegas lost to Tacoma 4-3 in 8 innings. Hu was 2-4. Box Vegas won 6-2 in the second game. Hu was 1-4 and was CS. Box
In the 10 games at AAA, Hu is hitting .500 in 42 AB's. Aside from the impressive power numbers he's put up so far (3 HR's, 12 RBI's), Hu's most impressive stat might be the fact that he has only 1 K at this level (and 2 walks) - Hu's strike zone judgement has been phenomenal - he was one of the toughest guys to K among the Southern League batting leaders - K'ing once in nearly 10 AB's at Jacksonville this year.

CPBL:
Game MVP
The Red squad beat the White squad in the 2007 CPBL All-Star game by an 11-3 count. Speedster Chun-Lin Ji of the Whales (Red squad) picked up game MVP honors after going 2-3 with a HR (off of Kevin Huang) with 2 RBI's in the game. The winning pitcher was Elephants submariner Yu-Cheng Liao who threw 2 scoreless innings to start the game while Wei-Lun Pan took the loss, allowing 2 runs in his 2 innings of work.
Notable hitters for both sides:

Other:
Talk about some serious BS - it's been brought to my attention that the kids who will represent Taiwan in Williamsport ate nothing but Instant Noodle for all their meals while they were in Hong Kong. Due to a lack of subsidized funding from the government, these 11-12-13 year olds kids really couldn't afford much else. I hope the government hasn't forgotten that the LLWS did help to put Taiwan on the map in the eyes of a lot of Americans. *updated*

What's wrong with CFC? He doesn't seem to be doing that well this year.

that is some real BS... someone needs to start a fund to donate some food to these kids...atleast something better than instant noodles every meal...seriously, thats sad!~

whered you hear that our boys were eating instant noodles every meal? i actually really like instant noodles..but seriously, theyre not exactly the nutritious meal that a young baseball team needs.

CFC has been hit with some nagging injuries this year - statistically he's doing fine...he just hasn't had that many AB's - In 169 AB's, he's hitting .343 with 15 HR's. So basically he's hitting a HR in every 11.3 AB's. Compare that to Chia-Chia who's hitting a HR in every 13.6 AB's and Tilson Brito who is hitting a HR in every 9.8 AB's.

I believe the story about the instant noodles was reported in the Taiwanese news.

Now they're saying that these kids are eating instant noodles only because they don't like the food provided by the event organizers. Funding supposedly wasn't the issue. Even then, someone needs to look after the nutritional intake of these kids--isn't that part of the coaching staff's job as well?

Thanks for that update...something doesn't sit right about this story; I find it hard to believe that a staff of 5 adults - including someone from the CTBA (if you look at the team roster) would overlook the fact that these kids were eating ramen day and night - someone should have had a little more common sense about the kids' diet in HK.
