Busy Day: Monkey Off His Back..Hu Game MVP...Lin HR #13

MLB:
Chien-Ming Wang finally defeated the AL West leaders - the LA Angels for the first time in his career. Wang's last loss was to the LAA back in late May. In throwing a shutout over 6.1 innings, Wang has a 13.1 inning scoreless streak going. Wang allowed 5 hits, K'd 3, walked 2 and received plenty of run support from his offense - as the game was out of reach in the 4th inning. Wang was consistently around 91-94 and topped out at 95 a few times. With the win, Wang picks up victory #9 and drops his ERA to 3.36. Final score Yankees 12 - Angels 0. Box/Recap

LLWS:
Taiwan won it's opening game in the Asian pool. Taiwan defeated Thailand 17-2. The shocker of the day was Korea being upset by HK 9-4. Traditionally, aside from Japan, Korea has been the toughest opponent Taiwan faces in the Asian regional qualifiers.

good job Hu Chin Lung! glad he's finally getting the call up to AAA. its about time. Looks like he'll be there with Kuo. I was a bit worried during the beginning of the Yanks game when none of Wang's pitches were in the k-zone. Fortunately, after getting those few bad pitches out, he pitched pretty acurrately the rest of the game. You think its his bruised nail or somethin?

I was surprised HK beat Korea in the LLWS. HK usually loses pretty bad to Korea.Maybe theyve improved this year. Who does Taiwan play next?

The nail could be affecting Wang somewhat....as for the LLWS, I did some searching....check the latest post.

More LLWS news..HK won their second game in a row. After upsetting Korea, they put a 12-1 hurting on Thailand. For some reason though the Chinese team is gone. I think they dropped out or something.
