Lions Fall to Seibu 2-1....

Asia Series:
The President Lions lost a close battle dominated by outstanding pitching from both sides. Seibu starter Takayuki Kishi (the 2008 Japan Series MVP) was the better man as he held the CPBL champs to 1 run on 2 hits over 8 innings (10 K's, 2 BB's). Taking the loss for the P. Lions was starter Wei-Lun Pan (6 innings, 2 runs, 5 H, 4 K's, 2 BB's). Game Recap/Box (in Japanese)
Pan has a history of performing reasonably well against the NPB champs (see last year).

The final round-robin game is set against the undefeated KBO champs (blasted the CBA champs 15-0 in the day's other game) tomorrow. Because of shoulder pain, Luther Hackman (this year's Taiwan Series MVP) will not start. Yueh-Ping Lin is expected to take the mound as the team's starter.
