It was a good run by the Taiwan team (I still can't figure out what Chinese Taipei really means!). We faced a tough (though wild) pitcher who's even taller than I am! We had our chances but unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be.

I'm glad to see these little guys representing the nation though. They are our little ambassadors to the world and from what I saw, they handled themselves with class!

Im just happy to see our boys representing Taiwan with class at the championship game. good job to the boys for trying their best. hopefully next year, our boys will win the championship and break the 2 year losing streak in the championships. Little League, Pony League. Which has more participation in Taiwan? Is it like in the US where there are more Little League teams?

Were you guys there at the game? Feel free to post some pics and send us a link.

I don't know how things are in Taiwan, but it seems as if the more talented teams are playing in Pony Baseball versus Little League nowadays.

I wasn't at the game but saw the broadcast live in Taipei. The announcers said that there are more restrictions with the Little League regarding the size of each school, etc. There's less of that in the Pony league and I think you can even use an all-star team.

I didn't follow the story too closely but I think our team members go to the same school that Chien-Ming Wang went to. They had some trouble with funding and almost didn't make it to the tourney. That would have been a shame. Anyway, let's hope they win it all next year. And, it's always good to see "Go Taiwan" and all the fans on the other side of the screen!

Thanks for sharing that info Anony! So did Wang pitch in and help with the funding?

I think I heard that he did (from the TV news here). My mandarin is not good so I can't say for sure.

Still pissed that our little leaguers didn't get a fair shake in Hong Kong...ugh!
