Third Time's a Charm!!!!

Wang finally won his 14th game of the season against arch-rival -the Boston Red Sox. Wang pitched 6 + innings (he faced one batter in the 7th) and gave up 7 hits (all to 3 batters) - 1 HR, 3 runs, with 4 walks (2 intentional to Manny Ramirez) and 2 K's. Wang left the game in the 7th with a 4-3 lead. Despite the win, Wang struggled with finding the strike zone (90 pitches - 49 strikes) - the home plate ump calling a tight strike zone didn't help either. Wang also went away from his signature pitch - his sinker quite a bit, utilizing a slider throughout the game. Wang was consistently in the mid 90's with his fastball (between 94 to 96 mph) and the HR allowed to Manny was a decent pitch that Manny barely poked over the wall near the RF foul pole (~ a 310 foot shot). Ramirez (2 intentional walks, 1 HR) and Hinske (3-3 - all doubles) continued their mastery of Wang's pitches. All in all, not one of Wang's better performances, but it was still good enough for a win nonetheless. Wang joins elite company with his 14th win of the season, trailing only Roy Halladay who has 15 wins to lead the Majors.
