Cubs Sign Pitcher from Taiwan.....

The Cubs inked their third kid from Taiwan: RHP Hsin-Hong Tsai from Chiayi County's Tong-Shi HS. He follows his predecessors: Hong-Wen Chen and Chih-Hsiang Wen (has since been released). Tsai stands 6'0'' & is listed at 177 pounds (may be closer to ~150 pounds). His pitching repertoire includes a FB that tops out at 90 (sits around 86-89), below avg breaking stuff, below avg command, decent arm action, - he has some projectability. The Cubs beat out the Twins by signing him for $130k.

A+ - High Desert is down 7-5 in the 7th. KH Lo has slammed his 8th HR of the year (doubling last year's output), he's 2-3 with a double, a BB, 2 RBI's, and his 17th SB of the year. Box

A+ - Lancaster is tied at 4 in the 8th. CH Chiang is 0-4. Box

Taiwan lost 3-2 to the US in 11 innings. Taiwan has lost all 3 of its games by 1 run (also to Japan and South Korea). Box
Despite the loss, Taiwan is matched up against the US again on Saturday in one semifinal.

More bad publicity for an already struggling league: A bomb shell was dropped by T-Rex GM Chin-Hsin Shih who made allegations that CPBL games are still being fixed.

Excellent! This is a dream come true. Is it possible that we might eventually see an end to "All Yankees All the Time" coverage?

Go Cubs! Next Year Is This Year!!
