Hu Up.....

MLB:
With the expansion of ML rosters in September, CL Hu was called up by the Dodgers along with Houlton, Meloan, and Moeller. Check the active roster here. Congrats to Hu - as he is now the 5th Taiwanese player (2nd positional) to make it to the Major Leagues.

CH Tsao has been shut down for the remainder of the season - the prognosis on him is not looking good.

NPB:
The Lions lost to the Eagles 7-3. Hsu pitched 2 innings, allowing a run on a HR. Box

Amateur:
Cuba and Taiwan played to a 4-4 tie in Italy. LF Ying-Chien Liao cracked a HR - the second of the tourney for the team. Box/PlaybyPlay
With the tie, Taiwan finished with a 3-1-2 record in the tourney. The good news is Chih-Chia Chang looks like he is on the right track - Yi-Chuan Lin has swung a good bat now in two tourneys (he looked good in Holland too). On the other hand, P Chen-Chang Lee failed to impress in this tourney as he was one of the bigger names to play for the NT after all the hype he's received.
Check here for the cumulative stats for the Taiwanese NT.

US MINORS:

A ss - Lowell won 4-0. CH Lin was 0-3 with a walk. Box

A - Greenville is losing 11-4 in the 9th. Chiang was 0-1 before being HBP - he left with an injured neck/shoulder. Box

AA - Tulsa is winning 7-4 in the 7th. CL Lo is in line for the win - he lasted 5 innings, gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. Box

Other - John Sickels with a brief blurb on KH Lo: "Wisconsin outfielder Kuo Hui Lo looks like a sleeper. Good opposite field pop, runs well, decent discipline."

CPBL:

Bears 8 - Bulls 5: The Bears won on the strength of 3 HR's - Feng-Min Chen (game MVP) hit HR #4, CFC hit HR #22 (he was 3-5 with a RBI), and Chih-Tsung Chiang hit HR #3 (he was 2-5 with 3 RBI's). For the Bulls, Tarzan was 2-5.

Cobras 6 - Lions 1: Hsien-Chih Chang (game MVP) of the Cobras won his 10th game of the season after allowing 1 run on 3 hits over 6 IP. Cobras LF Hung-Yuan Lin was 2-5 with a double and 3 RBI's. Lions catcher Chih-Kang Kao was the only guy to put a dent in Chang's armor as he hit a solo HR (his 4th of the season) in the 3rd inning. Tilson Brito and KC Kao were a combined 1-8.

Maybe the 13th Youth World Baseball Championship since it got canceled in Venezuela. They might award the tourny rights to Taiwan but they dont know yet. Japan and Korea are also competing for it. But, the 2007 World Baseball Cup (the 37th) will be held in Taichung in November I believe. Terror could probably confirm it for me

Mark,
Welcome to the blog. The only thing going on in December is the Asian Olympic Qualifier. It will take place in Taichung December 1st through the 3rd. I'll shoot you an email.

Sounds right anonymous.
