3-0 at WUBC.....

But not without an initial scare from the Virgin Islands. Taiwan found themselves down 3-0 after the first inning. Taiwan starter Chia-Chun Tang, who pitched well in Holland, wasn't able to survive the first inning. Taiwan was able to take a lead going into the 6th inning before the V.I. tied it up 4-4 in the bottom of the 6th. From there on out, Taiwan racked up 11 runs in the final 3 innings to win convincingly 15-4. Ko-Chien Lin won his second game of the tourney. Offensive stars for Taiwan were: Chun-Yu Kuo who was 2-4 with a HR and 3 RBI's and Fu-Jen Shen who was 3-5 with 2 RBI's. Box
Taiwan's next game should be a gimme against the Czech Republic. After that it's a rematch against the US team that swept them 7-0 in an exhibition series this past summer.

Japan:
Lin was 1-1 in a pinch hit appearance with a double. Box

Minors:
Hu was 1-5 with a walk and a SB. Box

He's back!! Chen returned to San Antonio and was 0-3 with 2 walks and a run scored. Box

Lo won his 9th game of the season, pitching 7 innings, giving up 5 runs - 4 earned, with 0 walks and 6 K's. He also gave up 2 HR's. Box

Chiang DNP, while Huang was 0-4 with 2 K's. Box

Well, I hope #8 is lucky for us! I wonder if the coach will use Tseng tomorrow or save him for later in the knock-out rounds. Tseng is good, but the US has already seen him a couple of times.
