Back in the Groove!

Chien-Ming Wang brought his "A" game on Wed. night versus the Mariners. After struggling with his sinker the past few games, Wang got back on track with a "typical" Wang performance - inducing ground outs (11 of them tonight) with his sinker. Wang even managed to K 5 hitters (including Ichiro once and Beltre twice). Wang pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits - 2 runs (both runs scored in the 7th inning), to go along with 5 K's and no walks. With his 15th win on the season, Wang is now one of only 4 Major Leaguers in the 15 + win club. As Wang continues to rack up the victories, he is now chasing Chan Ho Park who had 18 victories in 2000 with the Dodgers, to surpass the number of victories in a season by an Asian pitcher in the Major Leagues.
Box/Recap

Minors:
AA - Chen was 1-4 with 2 RBI's as the Missions won 4-3. Box

A - Wu finally made an appearance for the AquaSox as he went 1-4. Everett lost 3-1. Box

R - The Red Sox are in the GCL finals versus the Dodgers. The Sox lost the opener 2-0. Chiang was 0-4. Huang was 0-0 with a pinch hit sacrifice bunt. Box

Except for the 7th inning, Wang simply looked masterful tonight. Even Ichiro was fooled by his sinker. Congrats to him on the 15th. Keep it up!

Great, i was waiting for one of these games since the last few games werent "typical" for Wang. You Think he'll get 18 wins this season to surpass Park for most wins by an asian pitchers in the big league?

oh yeah, today i heard of an idea that they should start paying little leaguers. personally i think this is ridiculous. What do you think?

Talk about how much Yankees are spending, Wang's not even making half a million this year.

Probably the most underpaid player along with David Wright. I hope both of them gets the money they deserves when they're FA.

Wang probably has around 6 starts left, so I'd say that he has a pretty damned good chance of getting at least 18 wins - so long as he stays healthy. In 27 starts this year, Wang's won 15 of them. If you do the math, that's better than a 50% win to starts ratio.

Yea, Wang will def. be due for a huge pay day coming up. He deserves it!

Well David Wright just got a new contract so Wang is def the best bang for the buck right now in baseball.

As much as I want him to win 18+ games this season, I hope he doesn't get fatiqued and worse, some type of injury for being over-worked. We need him to represent Taiwan in the long run.
