Extra Innings Nail Biter....

Amateur:
The site for the WUBC is temporarily down, but the last time I checked, Taiwan and Cuba were deadlocked in a 1-1 tie in the 14th inning. Chen-Chang Lee was as advertised for Taiwan as he held the Cubans to 2 hits and 1 run over 8.1 innings. Hopefully when I wake up in the morning, I'll hear some good news about the results.

Thanks to Ben from the ABF, I was able to find out the results of the World Boys Baseball Tournament in Japan. Japan finished in first place by beating Brazil by a slim margin of 2-1. Taiwan ended up losing to Seoul, Korea by the same score 2-1 to finish 4th in the tourney.
I was able to find out from my buddy that the mystery pitcher is none other than 15 year old Wen-Hao Cheng.

Majors:
Chien-Ming Wang will get his third crack at winning #14 against the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Wang will face off against Jon Lester (6-2, 4.09 ERA). The game will be broacast on ESPN at 10:00 AM Pacific, so set your TIVO's/DVR's!

With the way Kuo is pitching, expect a September call-up to the Bigs when they expand the rosters. We'll see if Kuo can continue to demonstrate better command of his pitches at the Major League Level.

Minors:
AA - In 3 plate appearances against former top prospect for the KC Royals, Zack Greinke, Chen manage a single and a RBI. Chen was 2-3 overall, with a RBI and a run scored. San Antonio lost 11-3. Box

A - Everett is losing 7-5 in the 7th inning. Wu is currently 0-2 with a RBI behind the plate. Box/Log

R - Chiang continues to pick up his hitting. The Red Sox won 9-8 in extra innings as Chiang was 4-5 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI. On the other hand, Huang continued to struggle at the plate as he was 0-4 with 2 K's; he also committed his 4th error of the season while playing at 1B. Box

Anony,
Click on the Box link in the above post. The official home page link is on the left hand side of the page. It's the bottom icon that's ovalish with the abbreviations FCBA - the only thing is that the site is in Spanish.

Cor,
Please let the players know that we're behind them 100%!!!!
